Dan Burton

Dan brings strengths in strategy, finance, and executive leadership. As Health Catalyst's CEO, he helped grow the company from less than $1 million in revenue to $311 million in 2025 revenue. He led acquisitions and strategy consulting at HB Ventures, headed strategy at Micron Technology, and worked at Boston Consulting Group.

Co-Founder and Managing Partner

Paul Horstmeier

Paul brings strengths in operational excellence, entrepreneurship, marketing, and product management. He served as Health Catalyst’s COO and led acquired HB Ventures businesses to profitability. At Hewlett-Packard, he led product management for several LaserJet models—part of what HP described as its most successful product line ever. He also led U.S. digital marketing across all HP products, served as Worldwide Vice President of HP.com, co-founded HP’s first ecommerce printer store, and led marketing for emerging new category products. Paul recently returned from three years of volunteer leadership service in Puerto Rico as a mission president for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

HB Ventures employs high-performing university students or recent graduates to lead assessment and improvement work, with close mentoring from Dan and Paul. Our teams connect strategy and financial judgment with marketing expertise, practical execution, and emerging AI capabilities.
