Business Selection

We seek Utah Valley small businesses facing genuine challenges or seeing meaningful unrealized potential. Perhaps sales have slowed, profits are disappointing, cash is tight, or too much depends on you. Or your business is doing well, but you see opportunities to perform better.

Through our Business Improvement Projects, HB Ventures selects a limited number of businesses to receive a fully sponsored, pro bono engagement—including a team combining high-performing student talent with experienced executive guidance. We donate our time and pay the student associates, with no charge to the selected business for their work or our mentoring.

Paul and Dan personally select businesses where we believe this investment can create meaningful value for the owner and real-world experience for students. We look for owners willing to share information, participate actively, and act on findings. We value owners who also see the engagement as an opportunity to help students learn and develop through real business experience.
